Hi, I'm Tai.
Lately, I've become deeply fascinated by biotech, particularly alternative proteins. This fascination stems from my belief that alternative proteins represent a transformative solution to some of the world's most pressing challenges, including climate change, food safety, and animal welfare.
My journey into technology began with a different passion: blockchain technology. I got hooked back in 2013 during grad school, and that eventually brought me to South Park Commons. There, I took the initiative to build a crypto protocol. We successfully raised $2.5m for our venture and pioneered the first credit default swap protocol on a blockchain.
At my core, I am driven by a love for technology, which I believe is one of the most powerful forces for change. I consider myself a generalist—someone who engages in various activities such as coding, designing, hiring, selling, writing, fundraising, and much more. This versatility allows me to thrive on learning and adapting across different disciplines.
Beyond work, I adore reading books, watching documentaries, playing soccer, and cooking or exploring vegan food. Here are my favorite documentaries and books. Moreover, I aspire to be an effective altruist. As a trial member of Giving What We Can, I have pledged to donate 1% of my salary to effective charitable organizations.
Writing is a crucial part of my life. I write to think everyday. I publish most of my writings on Substack and I contribute to freeCodeCamp and Business Insider Japan.
